Know only basic English and want to improve? Want to overcome your fear of speaking and start using it to study, work and travel?  

Classes for adult professionals are designed to improve  English skills in a supportive yet serious atmosphere. During interactive classes you will practice speaking and deepen communication skills. Instructors are focused and each lesson is well planned. 

What do I Need?
  • No prior English knowledge is needed. After the placement test you will be assigned to one of the groups according to your level of knowledge. 
  • Laptop and internet connection to be able to join in to online classes.

Fit Your Schedule

This is a 13-week program with new groups forming twice a year: September & January. You will be assigned to one of the time slots based on the results of the placement test.

Fall Semester Classes: September 15 - December 19

Spring Semester Classes: January 19 - April 24

A full refund will be made if the assigned time slot does not fit your schedule.

Location

Courses are held in DeFehr Center on the , where you will be immersed into an international English speaking atmosphere. In case of renewed quarantine, the courses will continue in an online mode.

Certificate

  You will be awarded a certificate indicating your level within the Common European Framework if you attend at least 80% of the classes and pass the final test at the end of the course.

Library Access

During the course, you will have access to the university library and will be able to read books, newspapers, and magazines in English, as well as watch films. To borrow books, present your ID card or passport to the library staff.

Gym Access

Access to the gym at the Michaelsen Centre on campus. Special prices apply to participants of evening English courses: 

鈧5 for a single visit 

鈧30 for a monthly pass (unlimited visits).

Application process

Complete the registration form

  Fill out a short registration form on our website. After submitting the form, you will receive an email with payment details and the next steps to complete your registration.  

Take the English placement test

  Once you鈥檝e registered, you鈥檒l receive a link to the placement test via email. You can also find the test link on this page. If you already took the placement test last semester, you do not need to retake it.  

Register for an online Zoom meeting with a teacher

  In your first confirmation email, you鈥檒l receive a link to register for an online Zoom meeting with a teacher. During the meeting, the teacher will assess your English level and assign you to the most suitable group, taking into account your preferred study days.
If you don鈥檛 register for an online Zoom meeting or complete the placement test before the course starts, the teacher may contact you by phone for a short conversation.  

Receive your class invitation

  Before the course begins, you鈥檒l receive an email invitation with your class details 鈥 including the schedule, classroom number, and other important information.

To apply for the program you must complete an online registration form:

Placement Test

The placement test is designed to evaluate your English language proficiency, enabling us to place you in the appropriate group for optimal learning. Upon completion of the test, we will provide you with additional information on how to schedule a remote interview with one of our teachers. 

You can complete the placement test before or after submitting the registration form.

Join with Kursuok.lt

From November 27th, you can register through Kursuok.lt and have a possibility to get funding for our courses! Please note that the schedule for the Kursuok.lt programs are different than the ones in our ELC page due to new scheduling requirements. Besides, the maximum participants in a group and the registration process are also a bit different. Still, the excellent teaching quality remains the same and you learn from the same material. If you are unsure of your level, you can do our placement test and email elc@lcc.lt with your test results, so we can recommend what level would fit you best.

Payment

The total price for the 13-week program is 395 Eur. Payment can be made on campus using cash or credit card or by bank transfer.   

You can make a full payment during the registration process. Alternatively, you can pay in two equal parts. To pay in two parts, there is an additional 15 Eur administration fee.

Family / Returning Student Discount
  • If family members are simultaneously studying in any LCC English program, a 10% discount is given to each one.
  • Students who return for the second semester in a row are given a 10% discount for the second semester.
  • New course participants can use their Klaip臈die膷io card to receive a 10% discount on evening English courses for adults (the discount applies when paying the full amount at once. Payment can be made at the university reception).  
  • Discounts cannot be combined.

Conversation Club

Put Your English Language Skills Into Practice

Join our weekly meetings at the English Conversation Club at LCC to put your English language skills into practice. Led by our experienced facilitators, each session provides an hour of structured discussions and tasks designed to improve your fluency and confidence in English.

Completely flexible 鈥 join every week or once a month.

If you prefer learning individually and at your own pace, we offer private tutoring services. Our experienced tutors, trained by qualified English Language Center teachers are capable of meeting your specific needs and helping you to improve your conversational as well as grammar skills. Learning individually offers the flexibility you might need.

Expected outcomes by level:

We will test your English skill level before you begin this course. After the placement test you will be assigned to one of the study groups based on your level: 

Beginner / Elementary

You haven鈥檛 studied English much, but maybe you know a few words.  In this course we will focus on basic grammar and vocabulary. By the end you will be able to have simple conversations and use basic grammar forms. 

Pre-intermediate

You understand and can use basic grammar and vocabulary.  We will work on using more verb forms and building vocabulary so that you can talk about personal topics like your job and family.

Intermediate

You are ready to refine your vocabulary and to use more complex grammar structures.  We will focus on conditionals, modals, and reviewing many verb forms. At the end of the course you will be able to write 1-2 paragraphs on personal topics and understand a TV news report.

Upper Intermediate

You know how to use more complex grammar structures and talk about your wishes and plans.  In this course you will learn to speak and write about your job or field of study; you will be able to participate in a group discussion and express your opinion while learning to understand different points of view in written texts and speech.

Advanced

You already have knowledge of many complex grammar structures and you can talk about your field of study.  In this course we will practice reading and speaking about more abstract topics while reviewing all grammar forms.  You will be able to give a 7-10 minute presentation and read and understand a variety of texts.
