MA Graduation

2025-08-20

You know the music. You are familiar with the tune “Pomp and circumstance.” If not, listen to it here:

When this particular song plays, you immediately know that it is graduation day.

LCC International University hosted the graduation ceremony for our master’s degree students in the MA TESOL program and the MA in International Management program on Friday, August 8. The program opened with the familiar “Pomp and circumstance.” LCC students, faculty, family and friends attended the program in Neufeld Auditorium. The program was live streamed for friends and family who were unable to attend.

Graduation is the ending of a program, the completion of a set of courses and the defence of a student’s research. But graduation is also a Commencement, the beginning of something new. Our adult MA students are already successfully employed in their respective field and making strides to improve companies, schools, and workplaces with their knowledge and skills. In what way is commencement both an ending and a beginning for them?

I believe that our students begin a new way of thinking. They begin to look at problems differently. They form questions in new ways. They have new research skills to explore perplexing questions. They approach their work with new eyes and fresh perspectives. Graduates of our programs carry their diploma’s away with a fresh attitude about research, about theories, and about the complex relationships between theory and practice.

We are extremely proud of these students.
